Washington: Education TV officials told a Senate subcommittee on Equal Educational Opportunities that television is a potential ‘savior of our society’ that could turn its mind-molding powers to providing all children everywhere equal educational opportunity. Mrs. Joan Ganz Cooney, of New York City, president of Children’s Television Workshop, praised the show Sesame Street which she said is now reaching 7 million of the nation’s youngsters each week.
